Our vision is to ignite the sparks of potential and nurture growth in a brighter future
We are on a mission to create a vibrant community where individuals find a safe haven to recover from crisis, provide a space to engage and grow through dialogue, and develop an environment where we learn and flourish together.
The West Midlands is proud of being the national engine of our national growth, innovation, and prosperity. There is another side to the scales, though, where people struggle to find their place in our society. We have identified veterans, young care leavers, and those who have recently experienced crisis, as those most in need of support within our communities.
🏠 20,000 people are without stable housing right now.
❓ 4,400 young care leavers (16-25) at risk of deprivation today.
🤞 30,000 veterans may be in need of mental health support sometime this week.
Excellent, high-quality intervention services are available through local authorities and charities but there remains a significant gap between relief or intervention and long-term sustainability.
In September 2024, we conducted consultation sessions with service users. The results were published along with the stories we captured from those who engaged with us.
For a minimum of 6 months, and for up to 18 months, we will provide a safe, high quality, and welcoming home from day 1 of being referred into Ignis Lodge.
Once settled into our community, we will work to understand your physical and mental health. Our on-site support team will provide mental and physical health support whilst working with NHS and healthcare partners to provide for complex or enduring need.
Our skills coaches will map out your skills and education needs. Especially those needs which would enable you to develop and gain employment. A personalised plan will be agreed and we will work with local colleges and skills providers to ensure high quality provision which delivers success for you.
Once you feel ready and equipped for work, we will provide employment coaching, work placements and job brokerage to find a role which works for you. This will be integrated within your personal plan to ensure it aligns with your health and skills needs. We'll review this regularly with you and support any conversations with the Department for Work and Pensions and other agencies and bodies.
When the time comes for you to leave our programme, we will ensure it is planned and managed seamlessly. The team will support you in taking those steps, and work alongside you to settle into a new home and your happy, healthy and independent life.
Though leaving our programme, you will never leave our community. As an alumni, we will continue to keep in touch, invite you to events, and be here for you, alongside, and in your corner.
